The fight between Rui and Tanjiro sparked something deep within Tanjiro.

In moments of near death, you seem to remember your life and that which you have lived.

In that one moment, Tanjiro remembered everything his father had taught him. The Hinokami kagura dance, the ability to remain calm and never show fear in the face of an enemy, or the desire to harm them, the strength to dance all through the night, no matter your health, and how to see past the surface of your enemy.

Tanjiro remembered it all, and he would not forget it.
