SHORT DESCRIPTION
San Diego, 2014. Jamie is neurodivergent, in an open relationship, and hopelessly drawn to the one person she shouldn't want-her best friend. With Jason away in Cuba and her boundaries blurring, Jamie must face the messy realities of desire, identity, and love without rules. Set across San Diego, Havana, and Medellín, this story explores what happens when love refuses to stay in its box.

LONG DESCRIPTION
Set primarily in San Diego, 2014-a city that feels as alive and complicated as Jamie herself-this is the story of a neurodivergent woman trying to make sense of her restless mind through the systems she builds to keep it steady. With Baja California just down the coast and scenes unfolding years later in Medellín, Colombia, 2025, the novel moves fluidly across time and place, mirroring Jamie's own non-linear process of understanding.

Jamie is in an open relationship with Jason, who is living temporarily in Cuba, navigating his own path abroad (or getting followed by chickens and dogs with souls). Back home, Jamie finds herself wrestling with a growing crush on her best friend, Nadia-a pursuit that everyone, including Jamie, knows will not end well (or, leave a permanent mark).

At its core, this is a story about the messy realities of love, desire, and identity. It's about what happens when the boundaries we set-between partners, between friends, even between parts of ourselves-start to dissolve. With clarity, humor, and emotional nuance, this novel explores what it means to live authentically in a world that rarely makes space for difference.

A modern Pride and Prejudice story. Only sexier. Mira is a refugee, starting a new life far from home. She has to deal with her troubled past, her son, and her enigmatic boss, while her only weapon is her killer sense of humor. It's a slow-building love-hate story, with a strong female lead; two control freak lawyers, fighting for dominance, in denial of their feelings; an alpha discovering his submissive side; lots of humor and humanism. ~73K words ~~~ Warnings: - Mild language. Characters talk like white-collar workers usually do in real life. - Chapter 43 has mild sexual content. It isn't very graphic, it's emotional, rather, but if you don't want to read about it, just skip it. It won't affect the story. ~~~ Featured: - WP Romance's Read Together and Head Over Heels reading list - WP ChickLit and Women's Fiction reading list - WP New Adult's Romance reading list - WP Adult Fiction reading list - WP Classic Authors Twisting Austen's Magical Moments reading list - WP Retold reading list ~~~ Reviews: "You have a lot of literary elements going for you: your style is chock full of subtext, humor, and intelligence. There's a careful craftsmanship in world-building, character development, and theme." Scripturam Awards "A truly unique story with a quite remarkable a plot! It has the ability to convey the emotions stirred within the characters to the depth of readers heart!" The Graphomania Awards "I am beyond impressed with this work. The characters feel real; three-dimensional. The narration does not feel forced in any way, it flows as it reads." The Dream Awards "Some books lead with suspense and cliffhangers that even if you don't want to continue the book you do so just to sate your curiosity. But then a rare gem like this comes along and without any cheap tricks it pulls in, you just continue and keep reading it and you may not even know when you reach the end." Shadow City Awards

It's been five years since the plague struck. Leah knows there are other survivors, but she's avoiding them. She is doing just fine on her own. Surviving after everyone she knew died has made her physically strong and honed her intelligence, but she is emotionally devastated. There is nothing to fear if you don't make yourself emotionally vulnerable. James has spent the last five years helping to build up a colony of survivors. He believes in the small town they have populated and its mission to save humanity from extinction. He and his small team of men find scattered people and bring them in. Over the last two centuries, women have fought for and won more and more rights, gaining equality with men. Society, law, and technology bolsters and enforces these rights, but now they are gone. Women's equality with men is over. There are just too few of them. They aren't lesser but greater, more important, more valuable than men. Men are expendable. Men can stay outside alone if they like, but all women must be brought inside the safety of the Colony and properly taken care of. James has been searching the area Leah lives in. Her time of solitude is up. Leah sparks something in James he's never felt before. He's not letting this one get away, certainly not twice. Warning: Contains sex, some violence, occasional foul language, and adult issues. Genre: Science Fiction, Romance, Post-apocalyptic, Dark romance Length: 84,468 words This book has been published on Amazon. A Different Virus - Laura's Story by CrystalScherer
153 parts Complete
This is a second view point from my original story - A Different Virus - Heartfire. I highly advise reading the original book first. Intro: Laura was a happy child without a care in the world. She loved her parents and life was perfect. Nothing seemed like it could go wrong. People started talking about a bad flu that was spreading and sending some into a coma. Her parents grew worried and stocked the house in case of a pandemic. Months later another virus appeared. Her family was shocked when the news people started reporting that zombies were actually real and not just part of a horror movie. They were appearing in every country. Her parents reassured her that none of the zombie sightings had been anywhere close to them. Her life is turned upside down when her father ends up in hospital with the bad flu and mother exiles her upstairs for her safety. She was never allowed downstairs again. Weeks pass and the streets become deserted with the exception of the red eyed zombies that wandered around. One night she notices a swiftly moving figure with glowing blue eyes in the street below. Should she call out or remain silent? Is this fleeting shadow something that can help her or could this mysterious figure be even more dangerous than the zombies themselves? ---------------------- Ranked #1 Apr 10, 2018 (A huge thank you to all who read and voted!) This story is copyright and built from my own imagination. This book was a special request from someone who helped me a lot. This viewpoint has less action than the original. The cover was made by @All_AboutAssymetry. A huge thanks to her! Copyright September 2016. All Rights Reserved. Readers may not copy, alter, or steal this story. A JhoCey AU where- Just when Stacey has finally made peace with her past, finding closure and moving forward-she meets someone with the face of her greatest love. Haunted by the resemblance, Stacey must navigate her emotions and confront the uncanny connection, asking herself: can she truly open her heart to someone new? or is she trapped by echoes of the love she left behind? --------------------- ❓Quick summary Three years after the events in Sikulo, Stacey seems to have finally moved on. New life, new routine, fresh start. But one day, she meets someone. Someone who looks exactly like the woman she tried so hard to forget. Is it Jho? Or a completely different person? And more inportantly... does it even matter? --------------------- 📚Yes, this is part of a series! 1. Sikulo - The intro (Just a short read, a little over 2 hours. It's not as polished as Patintero, but trust me it's worth it because if you start with Sikulo, you'll enjoy Patintero the way it was meant to be.) 2. Patintero - This one! It picks up three years after Sikulo, mostly from Stacey's POV. So yes, there's a time skip. 3. Binhi - What happened during those missing three years between Sikulo and Patintero. This follows Jho's side of the story after Sikulo. You don't have to read it, but if you do, I promise it's even better than Sikulo and Patintero combined. That's why I highly recommend it. If you end up loving Patintero, I know in my heart you'll love Binhi even more because by then, I've grown so much more as a writer. --------------------- COMPLETED. Temporarily set to on going due to change of tags.
