Nineteen is meant to be the year of bad decisions. For Pauline, it should have been a year of hangovers on Newland Avenue and crying over boys who don't text back. Instead, she's scraping cold tins of food in a boarded-up Sainsbury's, running from a sky that has turned the color of fire.
