Edwin T. Waterbury is a human. At least, that's what he claims, but he's not certain anymore. He lived a fairly normal life until his friend Tristan convinced him to take a class on American Sign Language. The first day in class Edwin cracks a joke about the teacher's age. Bad move for his humanity: as it turns out, Ms. Ry'leah was a Cthulhu cultist and she curses him. With what? Well, each time he tries to perform an ASL sign, his hands transform into tentacles worthy of Lovecraft himself. And they last an entire class period. Edwin struggles to keep his grades afloat in a class where the subject just slips out of your grasp, your best friend can't stop laughing at you, and the teacher is more likely to bind you to a sacrificial altar than recruit you for the annual Sign-A-Song.
