Eight-year-old Maylee Sokolova was raised in the Red Room, a 'program' where you're nothing but a shadow of what you once were.

Karina, who was also raised in the Red Room, is 12 years old and has been through hell and back. She tries her best to help Maylee after realizing they were putting her through the same torture she endured.

Karina and Maylee escape together. Maylee seeks comfort and a sense of belonging in the world, while Karina seeks revenge. Her first act of revenge is against Tony Stark, the one she believes killed her parents.

But things go south quickly, S.H.I.E.L.D. finds the two and takes them in. Karina mysteriously dies, leaving the eight-year-old all alone with her demons. But little does she know she's not alone, because Natasha Romanoff, an ex-assassin, relates to the kid just a little too much to leave her alone
