Up until recently, Ayla Scott worked in a beautiful old bookstore run by a beautiful old man, a man she saw as a father figure. She loved her job and the people she worked. They made the strained relationship with her family a little less heartbreaking. When the owner of her beloved bookstore died it was shut down for good. She soon lost her apartment and ended up on the streets with only a backpack to her name. One night when she was trying to find somewhere to sleep, Ayla was attacked. She was taken to the hospital and what started as the worst night of her life turned into a blessing in disguise when she met her knight in shining armour, Dr Amanda Wynn. Amanda was working her regular night shift in the ER when Ayla was brought in. She saw the vulnerability and fear in her eyes and immediately knew she would do anything to protect this fragile girl.
