A lone kitsune within an endless wilderness. The life of a Catastrophe Messenger is one of uncertainty. With no end in sight, they traverse the incredibly hostile landscapes that define Terra beyond the walls of the nomadic cities, collecting and delivering vital information for the survival of Terran civilization against the onslaught of devastating Catastrophes. The story follows Apollo, a kitsune-turned-Catastrophe Messenger, through the many areas and aspects of Terra that individuals outside his profession will never get to witness. All while ensuring his own survival among an environment where nature itself is out for blood. "It's all about saving lives. More lives." ...How naive. If only it were that easy. Deadly anomalies. Dangerous wildlife. Tensions between factions whose effects cannot be avoided, even in the middle of nowhere. And a haunting past. In short... business as usual. Time to get to work. This story is a bit like Arknights meets Death Stranding, since the job of a 'Catastrophe Messenger' and general situation is strangely similar to a 'Porter'. It will operate almost completely independently from the plot of the game itself. This story is thus aimed more towards readers who like to immerse themselves into a unique perspective of the world of Arknights and not into a recreation of the in-game plot. So if you like Arknights, but can't wrap your head around the game's plot, then this story should fit for you. (Definetly not an excuse for the fact that the author is just interested in the general worldbuilding itself and not the game's plot directly.) As such, mistakes are to be expected, for this is my first experimental dive into the world of Arknights. Feel free to correct them if found. The 'Mature' tag is only for occasional descriptions of injuries and blood, as Messengers often face dangerous situations that can cause injury and sometimes even death. These will not be constant and not extreme. Arknights belongs to Yostar.

When a new boy lands in East Highland, everyone notices him: handsome, tattooed and an intense gaze. No one would ever guess that behind his fuckboy aesthetic hides an adorable nerd, raised in poverty, tragedy, and impossible dreams. He just wants to start over, leave behind a painful past, and focus on his goal: getting into MIT. But everything changes on the first day when he crosses paths with Maddy Perez - and that's when the chaos (and chemistry) begins to spark. Where love is born in the darkest places and blooms through glances that say everything. Because sometimes, what starts as a game... ends up being everything you were looking for. ------------------------- Disclaimer: The characters and much of the storyline in this fic are based on HBO's Euphoria. The main character and some secondary characters are original and belong to me. This story explores controversial themes such as drug use and life in marginalized neighborhoods. Many of the situations and settings have been exaggerated for entertainment purposes and are inspired by real events that took place mainly during the 1990s and early 2000s, especially in places like Compton, which at the time was considered a dangerous city. I do not intend to portray the current reality of these environments, as I'm unfamiliar with their present conditions. Therefore, I want to make it clear that this work is entirely fictional and is not meant to reflect the current state of these communities.
