His expression hardened, but the softness in his eyes betrayed him. He swallowed, jaw flexing once. "And that's only make this worse, It'll be easier if you don't care. Because it's make me hesitate." Donghyuck's breath hitched, but Mark kept going, his voice low, controlled, but trembling underneath, "And I can't afford hesitation with you. Not with what we are."

Donghyuck's fingers tightened slightly on the edge of the mattress.

"Not with what we are?" he repeated softly. "What are we, Mark?"

Mark froze for a moment, the world went painfully still, the kind of silence that exposes everything. He didn't look up right away. He stared at Donghyuck's hand in his hand like it was suddenly impossible to understand. Then, slowly, he raised his eyes.

"We are..." His voice caught. He clenched his jaw hard, forcing the words out. But final, "A Mistake."
