Louis Tomlinson, 30, is dealing with the hurt from a past relationship with Harry Styles, a 20-year-old college student who has problems with drinking and drugs. They meet at bars and after a one-night stand, things start to grow between them. But Harry's alcohol issues and forgetfulness about their dates end up pushing Louis away, and they break up.

Five months later, Louis has moved on and is talking to Zayn Malik, while Harry has cleaned up his act, quit drinking with help from his friend Niall, and started working at a restaurant. They run into each other, and even though they're not rushing anything, they start talking again and rebuilding their friendship. Slowly, they get closer, learning more about each other and fixing the mistakes from their past. They find a new way to be together, this time focusing on patience and understanding, realizing that love doesn't need to be perfect to be real.
