In a world teetering on the edge of ruin, a Tiefling who has escaped the shadows of the Underdark seeks redemption-and the chance to prove himself worthy of the title "hero." But in a land where prejudice runs deep and darkness stirs, the path to heroism is far from simple.

Joined by a band of unlikely companions-a hulking Minotaur with more strength than sense, a hapless human wizard, a druid plagued by a phobia of animals, and a Goliath bard who prefers ballads to brawls-he is thrust into a perilous quest. Their mission? Recover an ancient staff forged by the gods before a sinister secret society can unleash a primordial force known only as the Devourer, a being older than existence itself.

Their journey will take them through treacherous ruins, oppressive towns under imperial control, and cosmic battlegrounds where reality bends. Along the way, they'll face fierce battles, puzzling challenges, and eccentric foes, from flamboyant pirate captains to pompous noble adventurers.

As the stakes rise and bonds are forged, this ragtag group of misfits may be the world's last hope-if they can survive long enough to become the heroes they were never meant to be.

In the heart of Azeroth, where ancient magics weave through verdant forests, icy tundras, and fiery wastelands, an uneasy peace hangs between the Alliance and the Horde. But as whispers of a dark prophecy spread, a new threat begins to stir-a force not bound by faction or allegiance, lurking in the unseen corners of the world. The story follows a diverse party of heroes, each hailing from different factions and regions of Azeroth. Lyara, a night elf druid haunted by dreams of a dying world, joins forces with Aedric, a human paladin loyal to the Alliance, and Tharok, an orc shaman with a troubled past. They are later joined by Zyrra, a cunning blood elf rogue seeking revenge, and Rhogar, a stoic draenei priest guided by the Light. Bound by an ancient prophecy, the unlikely group must put aside their deep-seated enmity and mistrust to unravel the mystery behind the Shadows of the Beyond-a cult of dark magic-users who seek to unearth forbidden powers buried beneath Azeroth. As they travel across the lands, from the whispering forests of Ashenvale to the forsaken halls of Karazhan, they uncover secrets that shake the foundations of everything they know about Azeroth's history. But as the echoes of an ancient evil grow louder, the heroes will be forced to confront not only the enemy that threatens their world but also the darkness within themselves. Can they break the cycle of war and hatred before the shadows consume Azeroth, or will their differences tear them apart, dooming the world they love?

My dear warm-hearted reader, Are you ready for the adventure of a lifetime!? All you need is a drop of courage, and the adrenaline will get you right in the middle of this adventure. In my story, no one feels SAFE, and life has a single purpose: SURVIVAL! The beginning reveals a titanic fight between two kings of nature - the King of the Dry Land and the King of the Seas. One fights in order to cross the seas and augment his territories, the other one want his turbid waters to invade the land. And because they are equally powerful, the line of war is almost always at the shore. A balance that prevents their advancement on the enemy territory. Until one day when the "Legend of the Four Sons" disrupts this balance, and the Kingdom of the Seas invades mercilessly the Kingdom of the Dry Land, breaking it into a number of islands; over time, only four pieces of land are left amidst the seas; on them - four port-towns: Isbynorr, Narzomand, Salgornu, and Zendovir. On the other hand, the Kingdom of the Dry Land sends its explorers to cross the endless seas in search of other territories. Even so, nature seems to be unfair; it has some gifts for some and almost nothing for others... Everything is an adventure, and each event, each character will enchant your eyes. They hope to survive! Do you have any HOPE for something GREAT? Do you feel SAFE? You can answer these questions on your own! QUENCH your curiosity RIGHT NOW! Arrrrrrrgh!
Gamleon's Tail ~ Welcome to the worlds of : Within ~ by Cicada3300
14 parts Ongoing Mature
I wrote this for EVERYONE. An introduction to my universe.Best for slow , attentive , close reading. Stick with it. When you get to the action parts (which doesn't take long ) you should be invested enough to want to unravel the mystery and enjoy its intrigue.. The flood is raging. A terrifying, heartless mountain of water, swallowing the world in inevitable finality. The tunnel networks? Of course, that won't save them. The forests? Like leaves in a breeze. The lookout towers and trade hubs? Gone. Washed clean. What does it take to take everything? Every home, every name, every last trace of what once was. And who would do such a thing? And how? No one has ever seen anything that would make them believe in magic. Gamleon is the first to see and to survive. His mind near collapse under the strain, his heart broken. He runs. What would you do? What could anyone do? A world of mythological beasts and medieval men, where Gorgon hordes slither beneath the earth, clawing for metal, for power, for anything. But they come for your children. Opulent kings wage wars over things no one can even recall, blind to the coming obliteration. There is an isolated, forgotten place. A cavern, magnificent and vast, older than civilization. A place where the weird and the unwanted might ride out the cataclysm. In this special place, something incredible, cut off from the outside, lurks. Something... you won't be ready for or ever expect. Our weary, world-worn adventurer is a paradox: terrifying perhaps, yet tender, grotesque but with a quiet dignity bordering on noble, intimidating and innately intelligent. With no choice but to navigate the unexpected Gorgon tunnels, his inner thoughts help us all learn how to persist and triumph in the face of impossible odds. Join him and be swept away as he reconciles never-before-seen innovations and insurmountable challenges. Dignity and hope. Self-respect and courage.

I've always been told I have a very active and creative imagination and I should use that i it a like and follow for more chapters to come. Please feel free to point out any grammatical errors you find that I may have missed as I'm constantly editing the story to make it better. *If any names in my story are that of real world people it's completely coincidental, I use a random name generator, which creates countless names, to help with the naming of some of my characters.

Requiem of the Forgotten

40 parts Ongoing

The sky never falls without a reason. When the heavens cracked open and the world was erased, I should have died with it. Instead, I woke up in a world that was never meant for me. A world of elves, dwarves, forgotten gods, and unspeakable horrors. A world untouched by time-but not untouched by fate. I was not chosen. I was not meant to be here. I was simply one of the lucky ones who survived. But in this world, luck means nothing. ⸻ Aleks was never a hero. Just a boy who spent too much time watching life from the sidelines. Too quiet to stand out. Too tired to care. He never wanted glory. Never wanted war. But when the creatures of the void devoured his world, when existence itself crumbled beneath their weight, Aleks found himself thrown into a reality where gods walk among men, monsters lurk in the shadows, and history is written by those willing to fight for it. And fight, they must. ⸻ The darkness is coming. The same force that swallowed Earth will consume this world in six months. Humans, elves, dwarves, and beasts-sworn enemies, forced to unite. Ancient legends reawaken. Kingdoms rise and fall. War is inevitable. And amidst it all, Aleks is left with a question that no one can answer. Why was he saved? And why does it feel like this isn't the first time it's happened? Because somewhere, buried in the ruins of a forgotten past- The truth is waiting.
