Born during the War of the Ninepenny Kings on the 22nd day of the 9th moon in 260 AC, Prince Aerion Targaryen is the second son of King Aerys II and Queen Rhaella Targaryen. From the moment of his birth, Aerion was overshadowed by his elder brother, Prince Rhaegar-the presumed heir to the Iron Throne.
