One moment, she was an ordinary teacher. The next, she was gone, swallowed by a void of darkness. When she finally opens her eyes, it isn't to a familiar world-it's to the crushing depths of an endless ocean, her reflection revealing a body covered in golden scales.

Reincarnated as a fish in a world she doesn't understand, she's thrust into a relentless fight for survival. A strange system binds itself to her, offering a single chance: level up or be consumed. The rules are brutal-eat or be eaten-and the ocean is teeming with predators that defy imagination.

But as she grows stronger and evolves, she begins to see glimpses of a purpose she cannot yet grasp. The tides carry whispers of secrets buried in the abyss, of monsters sleeping in the deep, and of powers far greater than her own.

She thought death was the end. She was wrong. It was only the beginning.

In this world, survival isn't guaranteed, and transformation comes at a cost. The ocean waits, dark and unforgiving. Will she rise with the tide-or be lost beneath it?

A Mermaid for the Lonely

43 parts Complete Mature

A mermaid named Sirène, whose job as a mermaid is to guide those who have died at sea to rest their souls and not be trapped. She typically finds sailors whose ships have sunk, and pirates and convoys alike. Her personality is one of seriousness, and she does not express herself by facial expressions very often. She does sung lovely tunes though, ones of the sea and winds, not ones meant to lure anyone to their doom. She seldom spends time with other merfolk and prefers to be on her own. She is however very curious of the various emotions humans possess and their intensity, since she does not feel these. One day, while Sirène was staying near Pointe de Pen Hir, a dangerous cliffside that plunges right into the ocean. Looking upwards by chance, she saw a human, a man, standing dangerously near the edge of the rocks. The wind blew harshly and she could only watch and wait as he toppled over the edge and feel towards the ocean. She saw no fight in him as he fell. ________________________________________________________________ This is a fantasy story with my mermaid OC that I started making back when I was in middle school. I've used her character to help me through tough times and I am revisiting her. I want to make sure I have a place to remember her story, and make it a happier one than before.
