Raindrops Book 1: Cry
I pricked up my ears then, like some sort of wolf or predator listening in the distance for its prey; I held my breath and searched for the taciturn voice.
The ringing was getting even louder, banging my head in an annoying manner. Slowly, I contemplated closing off the sounds of the bells and slipping away into the silent infinity.
Then I opened my eyes.
Summer is supposed to be fun right?
Tell that to Shay Hunter.
This summer was supposed to have been the best one yet; instead, the only person that ever truly cared about her vanished like thin air
With her father gone and her mother turned to alcohol for support, Shay closes her shell and finds comfort in the deepest parts of her imagination.
That's when Avian shows up.
He is determined to make her open up to him and Shay cannot decide if she likes the brown haired stranger that makes the butterflies in the pits of her insides run wild.
Can she let herself accept this unusual human being that got her sent to the principal's office for the first time, or will she let her pride cost her the little bit of sanity she had left?
Though Avian may be cheerful, he's hiding a secret; a secret that makes Shay wonder whether or not mankind is truly all born to die
Could she just close up her shell once more and let her subconscious take over? Or can she fight?
And maybe even inspire a certain brown haired boy with chocolaty brown eyes...
