Get Under to Get Over || Raura
I sit there, my face looking like something out of a horror film. My make up is running and I'm ugly crying.
"Laura, you need to get over him. He's an absolute pig and you deserve way better." Chelsea rubs my back soothingly, her words spitting out like venom.
I look up at her, looking into her big blue eyes clad with mascara and eyeliner. "I know, Chels. I," I sniffle, "I just can't. I don't know what to do with myself. He meant... He meant so much to me, you know. You were there to witness that."
I clutch onto Chelsea's shirt as she attempts to stand up, her heels clacking against the floor as she hooks her arms under mine and hoists me up along with her.
"I know I was there. I was there to witness how much of an asshole he was towards you. I was there to witness how belittled he made you. I was there to witness how he absolutely broke you and how he destroyed you as a person." Chelsea grabs onto my face, a hand on either side, and she looks me directly in the eyes. "You. Deserve. Better."
"I know," I laugh out through a sob, the smallest of smiles on my face. "I know that and it kills me, because I can't let go. I can't let him go, Chelsea."
She just stares at me, pitying me. Pitying my feelings and my inability to grow a pair. Pitying my inability to move on.
"Laura." Her grip on my face only tightens and I wince slightly at the increase in pressure. "Henry was a fucking asshole. He is a fucking asshole. Both to you and to all of your friends."
"I can't get over him, Chelsea." I whisper.
A huffed laugh leaves her lips and I frown at her as she removes her hands from my face, running her thumbs under my eyes to remove the running mascara.
"Well, you know what they say." She smirks, grabbing her purse up from the bathroom counter and pulling out her makeup. "To get over someone, you need to get under someone else."
