DANCE OF THE FORBIDDEN
''Agamemnon turned on her, his eyes zeroing in on the blood on her thigh and shoulder. Memnon growled, his eyes glowing a bright blue, even as his chest and neck started to glow orange as if a fire was lighting from within him. His chest heaved up and down and smoke came out of his nostrils, his skin glowed from perspiration. Agamemnon turned to snarl at Nehmar who was getting to his feet. He took a step forward, breathing hard before he let out a roar that blazed fire out of his mouth. He aimed the fire at the ground, going around her in a circle as he went, when he completed the ring of singed earth and molten rocks, he stepped in front of her, glaring at Nehmar and growling, snarling like an animal, as if challenging his brother to come near them or cross the territorial boundary he'd drawn around her. He was murderous and ferocious in his anger, and all Pela could do was stare at him in awe.''
what is a bird if it cannot fly? what is a predator without the hunt? what is a Perurian if it cannot run with the wind, hunt with the wild, soar with eagles and dance with flames? deprived of the very things that make her what she is, Pela believes she knows what it is like to live with the forbidden, but life is a bitch... soon Pela discovers what it truly means to crave, long and need something she cant have, to dance so close to a flame she dare not touch, to hunger for a meal that might very well be her last. drawn into a dance as old as time, Pela must fight to stay alive even as her body and mind betray her; longing for the one thing she dare not take for herself; conflicted between the one she was always meant to be with, the mystery of what she is, and the one who's proving to be as valuable as life itself.
