My memory has failed me. My past haunts me. My decisions bite back at me with ferociousness not even a tiger would be able to achieve.
I don't know how much I've lost just doing it... But I know for a fact, that if I just sat there and didn't do anything, I would've lost far more. No matter how dark the tunnel I thread through gets, I know that there are people out there that I can rely on to light up the way for me.
Those people are to be protected at all cost. The ones in the center of my heart, all with caring and nurturing souls. I won't let any of them falter, for I know that they were the crutches that helped me walk when I couldn't.
Make the cost my life, and I'll still pay the price. Nothing will get past me, mark my words.

Humanity once stood on the top of the world. They ruled the planet with an iron grip. Their rise in technology, industry, engineering, and science were quickly growing. However, an invasion on a worldwide scale had occurred in late 2023. Though there were initial successes in repelling these unknown, mechanical entities. They would eventually start to gain ground through quick adoption of newer variants of their beings and adjusting to counter common military tactics. However, more was needed, so came the introduction of Nikkes, an experimental female soldier that would be the first cybernetic frontline soldier. Even though there were attempts of converting males to such a task, they would become unsuccessful, as it was found out that males were more susceptible to cognitive dissonance and suicide. And so, females ranging from 18 to 30 years of age would remain the main source of Nikkes. As the war raged on, more variants of Nikkes would reinforce or replace the quickly diminishing forces of the world. There would be a significant breakthrough in the Nikkes, with the introduction of the Grimm models of Nikkes. Five Nikkes would be produced by a now defunct company. This squad would be called Goddess. They would be commanded by a special forces Captain Nicholas Miller, and through their first missions, they would further prove the effectiveness of specialized Nikkes and even push the Raptures back some. However, even their efforts would not be enough to stop the tithe of Raptures from encompassing Europe. After many years of fighting, there was one last desperate defense of a structure known as the Ark. Unfortunately, humanity would end up underground where they would spend the next 5 centuries fighting the raptures in smaller scale battles, skirmishes, and special operations.
