Braidy von Althuis is going to get his father back, no matter the consequences. Mr. von Althuis has been abducted by Azra, Queen of Djinn, and the family is in shambles. Half of the von Althuises no longer have their magick, and an army of djinn awaits them at Azra's gates. Somehow, despite all of the odds, Mrs. von Althuis, Uncle Rolo, Aunt Liz, Blockhead, and Braidy have to band together to retrieve Braidy's father from the clutches of certain doom.
Even though they hate each other, Braidy is determined to pull the fae and djinn together to fight against Azra's tyranny. He will have to work with old friends, and old enemies, to finally end the war between djinn and fae that has come to a nasty head. Will Braidy be able to unite an army at his back and save his father, or will Mr. von Althuis belong to Azra forever?

While back at home, Damian's neighbour is holding a mermaid prisoner in his pond. Damian plans on helping the mermaid escape. But he has no idea how to do it. His grandmother, who happens to be an enchantress herself, comes visiting from whom Damian begins to learn simple magic tricks. This is an orginal story I am writing a novel of. It's about Raven, a boy who loses everything important to him before he graduates high school. He then is thrust into a bizzare scenario where he is a part of a group of half siblings that embark on a journey to they Fairy Kings palace. The King is very old and has no living fairy children to leave his thrown to. He has asked his trusted body guards of his half human children to bring them to him. He will give them a series of tests to see which one will win the crown. A Swing in the Park
It was the summer of 1976 when my father left us. It was a particularly memorable summer and my mother suffered terribly. My father had left her for a younger woman and moved into her apartment which was above a flower shop where she worked. My mother struggled making ends meet and got a job as a nursing assistant at Peaceful Haven, an old folks home that still exists although it is very badly run down now. Because she could not afford a baby sitter, my mother took me to work where I sat in the lounge and watched TV and read books. On her lunch breaks she took me across the street to Faulkner Park where she made out with Fred while I wandered around eating my sandwich. But I quickly grew bored. I was 8 then, a bright young girl with an active imagination. I imagined doors in the sandbox, swings into the sky, doors to another world. And in the rooms of the old lost souls were more doors only waiting to be opened. I took those souls with me on my adventures and eased their loneliness and age with my contagious eagerness to believe anything. And then a terrible thing happened to me, so terrible I could not speak of it. I was in hospital, unable to believe anymore and my old friends came to visit me and to believe for me. I am 30 now, and as I write this and look back I wonder if I still believe. And yes, I do. Believing got me through that summer and believing got my father to come home again.Complete
