Humanity is decimated. Annililated by beings known as Raptures. All over the world, they slowly pushed us back until there was nowhere else to go. Nowhere else but underground. And so, as a final safe haven, the Ark was created. An underground utopia, built to support millions, was created. All was well. Humanity was finally given a second chance to live without the fear of the Raptures.
However, from beyond the Solar System, a threat is arriving. A threat that is so inconceivably great that humanity may just go extinct for good. However, we won't go down without a fight. We'll give them a fight that they'll never forget.
Why?
Well, that's because we are the Counters Squad.

Re: Incarnation - Starting life in an Apocalyptic World
There was a boy who lived in a world, living a life similar to many of those around him. However an almost comical event makes it so he winds up being sent across the multiverse, inhabiting the role of the Protagonist of a Game he's already played before. This is, Goddess of Victory: NIKKE. It's far from a world filled with sunshine and rainbows like your average Isekai adventure, no, this is a world that has and still is experiencing its apocalypse. A world where humanity has already lost once before and are fighting a losing battle against an enemy that outmatches them. However, there is him. A Commander whose first mission went awry, here to do what he does best. It's fortunate that he understands the situation to a suspicious degree to ensure this world does not fall.
The meaning of Victory. (Male reader x NIKKE: Goddess of Victory.)
Humanity has taken heavy loses against the Raptures, mechanical creatures that came out of nowhere and claimed the title as Earth's new predominant species. But not all hope is lost. Androids that are capable to fight these machines have been built. Nikkes. You are their Commander, a rookie fresh out of the academy. Even so people should not underestimate you, for you are far, far better than any other commander and you are about to prove that fact right...
NIKKE: Rise of Humanity
Humanity. The Apex Species living in the planet called... Earth, located in the Sol System That was. Until *They* came The Raptures. An unknown alien civilization appeared out of nowhere one day, they spawned from the darkest corners of the Earth, it is still unknown how they even appeared. But Humanity had more pressing problems The two fought a bloody war, lasting a unknown amount of time, it was informally called "The World War" during the "Second Dark Age" Ultimately. Humanity lost, Bad. Due to the Raptures endless numbers and invulnerability to most weapons. Humans, more than 90% of their population dying, what's left of humanity was driven underground Forced to adapt and survive But even in this harsh times, Humanity remains corrupt, evil, and uncaring to each other Though... The ones on the surface are different. Even after the War. Humans still lived in the surface, in small pockets, scavenging scraps of technology from the Second Dark Ages. Barely getting by But once these two discover each other. And hopefully... Hopefully unite "War does not care who is right. Only what is left" And what is left... Shall rise once more![A Link To The Past [Nikke x Legendary Commander]](https://img.wattpad.com/cover/372243937-256-k536039.jpg)
A Link To The Past [Nikke x Legendary Commander]
Humanity once stood on the top of the world. They ruled the planet with an iron grip. Their rise in technology, industry, engineering, and science were quickly growing. However, an invasion on a worldwide scale had occurred in late 2023. Though there were initial successes in repelling these unknown, mechanical entities. They would eventually start to gain ground through quick adoption of newer variants of their beings and adjusting to counter common military tactics. However, more was needed, so came the introduction of Nikkes, an experimental female soldier that would be the first cybernetic frontline soldier. Even though there were attempts of converting males to such a task, they would become unsuccessful, as it was found out that males were more susceptible to cognitive dissonance and suicide. And so, females ranging from 18 to 30 years of age would remain the main source of Nikkes. As the war raged on, more variants of Nikkes would reinforce or replace the quickly diminishing forces of the world. There would be a significant breakthrough in the Nikkes, with the introduction of the Grimm models of Nikkes. Five Nikkes would be produced by a now defunct company. This squad would be called Goddess. They would be commanded by a special forces Captain Nicholas Miller, and through their first missions, they would further prove the effectiveness of specialized Nikkes and even push the Raptures back some. However, even their efforts would not be enough to stop the tithe of Raptures from encompassing Europe. After many years of fighting, there was one last desperate defense of a structure known as the Ark. Unfortunately, humanity would end up underground where they would spend the next 5 centuries fighting the raptures in smaller scale battles, skirmishes, and special operations. All while the fates of Goddess squad and the now legendary Captain Nicholas Miller had remained a mystery.Complete

The Commander Who Didn't Give a shit
This is a story about a game called "Goddess of Victory: NIKKE" highly recommend it. Tried it, and now it's my favourite game. So, I shall be hopping into it! The setting is as follows: *Ehem* post apocalyptic world, women turned into cyborgs, a single Commander tasked with saving humanity. It has everything you could ever hope to expect from such a story- Eeexcept. This one Commander, the one who's supposed to be the upstanding citizen who does no wrong, the infallible hero who snatches victory from the jaws of defeat?... He's really just a shit talking bastard named Zero... Ah and speaking of shits... He has absolutely none to give really... Aaand yet despite that all, he seems to be the only one that's been able to make any sort of headway against the enemy that's been fought for over a dam century. Gee. I wonder why? Perhaps it's because of the fact that he doesn't give a shit about anything that allows him to disregard all the social and political fluff of this world and... just treat his team like people. Now ain't that some shit?
