America has just became stable again, and families 
are moving all over the Louisiana Purchase--Including the Mill family, who are building a cabin a bit too close to the Cheyenne Indians.
When the Indians find out, they want to do more than bargain with the Mills; they want to teach them a lesson by capturing the oldest daughter, Emily, and keeping her hostage for two months.
But sometimes, things don't go completely as expected.

It's nice to read a story where the stepmother doesn't have an unwarranted hatred for her stepdaughter.
She's just exaggerating out of fear. Plus she meet a seemingly hostile, very tall man that could kill her in a second. I would be scared too if a random, buff stranger was watching me in the woods.
