In the early twenty-second century, the Rapture is no longer prophecy but history. The ravaged land is populated by the unrepentant, the desperate, and the depraved. Stringent population control has been established and sexual relations outside marriage forbidden. The remnants of humanity, called Blinkers, are policed and segregated by two dominant species:

The Seraphim a.k.a. the "Halos"
Caeligradus sapiens. Beautiful and rational. All Seraphim who live amongst the mortals are post-Rapture angels who descended from the Firmament to gather the 144,000 last believers through the Judgement Day ceremony. Though benevolent, the Seraphim lead lives that are spiritually detached from the mortals.

The Nephilim a.k.a. the "Horns"
Phosphorocornis sapiens. Born of fornication between fallen angels and daughters of Cain, the Nephilim evolved with curling horns, hairy hocked legs and hooves, giving rise to legends of the faun in ancient times. They are led by the Grand Inquisitor Ao Guang and hold dominion in the frigid abysses of the East China Sea.

Three individuals from all three species - Zoe, Riktor and Nezha - discover that Judgement Day isn't what it professes to be. They begin to doubt the reality that they inhabit. The three must learn to set aside their personal conflicts and make the fateful decision to subvert the theocratic New World Order.
