Opium (Book Three)
Previously known as 'My Boss and I'
"Noah brushes his hand through the top of my hair, fixing where it sticks up seeming to lose himself in his thoughts as well. What a hypocrite. Lost somewhere off in distant memories.
Like a stationed pirate searching for the wonders of the sea.
Never allowed too close because of the dangers of the relentless waves.
And the secrets people are trying to keep.
Leaning forward slowly, I press my lips to his, teasingly, hoping to coax him out of the dangerous thoughts in his head, like he usually does for me. A small touch of my lips to his, my nose stroking the arc of his. My eyes only on his as we float away. He snaps out of it, his rocky grey eyes seem to hold all the questions to the universe but none of the answers.
But that's fine by me, some things are just not meant to be known by man.
Like Noah, so dangerously enticing that it can not be human but in these spare moments he is just a man and I am just a girl.
We are just people. Without the labels, without the facts or statistics. We are just one of many upon many across the universe.
But what the luck that we are here together.
I smile up at him not really minding his giant stature,"So I guess our meeting is finished, Daniels."
And he smiles, really smiles down at me and the imaginary pirate in my head shakes his hook and yells,
Beware Dangers Ahead."
Read as two different people from very different paths find each other in a world where they feel like they don't exist.
