Arabelle has a past. She isn't a normal 17 year old girl. It doesn't help that her dad is abusive. But now, she is going to start a new adventure. Having to move three different times, Arabella is determined to get past her senior year and hopefully get away from her father. With a unexpected friend that she made in the first day of school, and accidentally bumping into the school's 'bad boy' that everyone fears, will she make it? I frowned. "Remember what?" I asked as I watch Declan bend down to pick up an object that looked like a pebble. He tossed it and the sound of it hitting the ground could be heard a few feet away. I waited there in silence. I could hear the crickets chirping, but I wasn't sure where the sound had emitted from. Finally he spoke. "Everything. Anything. More specifically when we were seven." I shook my head. "No." I shivered when a cold breeze blew across the park. Declan didn't notice. He was still staring at nothing with a faraway look in his eyes as he spoke. "You don't remember Blake? Elijah?" I shook my head again. "I remember Blake. He was my friend when I was 12. But who was Elijah?" Declan let out a defeated sigh, "I guess it makes sense you remembered Blake. He was your best friend after all." His voice turned bitter at the end. His green eyes stared into mine as a unknown emotion flickered with in them. Hurt? Disappointment? But it didn't matter. As quick as it came, the emotion had disappeared. Instead his eyes turned cold, unfamiliar. "Forget it, it's nothing. There is nothing you need to know about Elijah. He didn't exist." Was there a second meaning behind his words? *Only a few abusive scenes in this book* *Not too violent* #174 in Teen Fiction on June 29, 2016!!!!! #110 in Teen Fiction on July 19, 2016!!!!!
