Breaking The Cycle Of Poverty
Doctor, Lawyer, or Surgeon.
Those were the choices Yasmine was given since she was born.
It's the three roads she was permitted to take, her parents said she should be grateful.
She was born in poverty, and so was her mother and her grandmother and her great-great grandmother. Poverty runs in the family, it's all she has ever known. It's like that brown eyes trait you just can't shake off.
Her family has decided that she will be the one to break the cycle. How? By busting her but in school to become a prestigious doctor or a studious lawyer. By falling in love with a wealthy man, but that's consider to be the last resort if her brain can't get her through the doors of wealth.
"God granted you beauty, so use it." One of her mother's favorite slogans.
She is to be anything but herself.
She can't be that poor girl from the state Delaware, the one without tangled hair and big brown eyes, lips the size of rectangular blocks and a body that barely fit into a size eight. She couldn't be the a complete brainiac or else shed scare guys away but she couldn't be to dumb or they wouldn't give her a second glance.
She understands that she's her family's only hope of ever being anything in this twisted world, but the weight on one person shoulder is too much!
Can she really handle her family living through her?
Things only get complicated when she meets Vincent, the shy guy across the street with the warmest smile and brightest mind. Too bad her family can't passed the tattered rags, all they can see is the riches.
