"Why can't you just tell me the last one on the stupid checklist?" I whined, turning in the car's seat to face him.
His eyes never left the road as he spoke. "Because it's special. Very, very special."
"Well if it's so special why can't you get it done early?" I pouted as if it would do anything. Just show me the dang checklist already.
"Because everything before it leads up to that one. You'll just have to wait and see, Darls." His stupid smirk made me want to rip his glands out and feed them to sharks. Then maybe consider saying sorry.
"I hate you so much." I groaned and slammed my back on to the seat and crossed my arms.
"Oh but you won't when I get that last thing checked off."
"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked and he shook his head.
"Nothing that you need to worry about...yet."
Darlene Hardlock is just you're ordinary girl with her twin by her side to criticize everything she does.
Cue Derek Hardlock. The soccer team's best striker the school could find in the whole state...so yeah, he's pretty well known.
The soccer team are a bunch of perverted lunatics-well, not all of them. They are loved by all and adored by many. Sure they have their downs...and their downs...but they might have ups. It's like Darlene has a whole team of brothers.
The start to new school year brings new people to the school which means new people to the team, replacing seniors that have left. Since only a few of the team's players have stayed, most of them are new.
Now cue Eric Newens the new goalie. He's good looking, charming, mysterious, and overall the definition of curiosity.
Eric introduces this "checklist" of his with everything he plans on doing before he graduates. Half done from the past leaving the most serious to finish.
It's a lot so he needs help. Who does he ask to help him? Of course, the one and only Darlene Hardlock.
Goodluck girl, you're going to need it.
