Wow. This is really really powerful. The phrase "... and if he would return by dawn" gave me shivers. Also the ending, "sitting, watching, waiting" literally made me tear up. I really, really like this poem! You're really good!

I really like how you tied in an experience and a story and told it in the forum of the poem, the emotions, the misunderstanding... I felt like I was all there experiencing it too :)
