Tessia absorbed a portion of the aether released by Arthur's bond, and gained a form rather similar to what Arthur, or much rather Grey, obtains.

Regis is searching for his place in a world where his friends died long ago, and he promised not to involve himself in current conflicts. If you're looking for a story that introduces multi-dimensional beings, where the main characters fight gods, or features broken characters like Arthur, this isn't the story for you. My focus here is on developing Regis as a character and exploring a few interesting threads that TurtleMe didn't delve into in the original.
