Magic can be found in any realm, no matter where you are, as long as you remember to look for it.

When the realm of Komorebi was new and filled with lush forests and unclimbable mountains, a star fell into a clear lake. Unbeknownst to it, it had also fallen in the territory of the three most powerful creatures of that era.
To soothe them, the star granted a gift to each.

For the Fox, the gift of wisdom and fire.

For the Dragon, the gift of strength and water.

For the Tanuki, the gift of prosperity and earth.

Over time, a variant of these gifts were spread to all the creatures of Komorebi, creating an enchanted society. For better...or worse.

Tsukiko had grown up on these myths her mother held so close. After all, one needs something to hold on to when serving the tyrant that was the emperor. Being one of the thousand servant families, Tsukiko had always had her life set out for her.

While some felt trapped her place, she really only wanted her life to happen faster. Serving a tyrant was better than going to what they called "education".
It was more like myths and legends shoved down your throat disguised as "life-saving information".
As if foxes were plotting against humanity with their so-called "fox powers".

It's ironic really, how the one person who's convinced magical creatures don't exist, is the one who's life is turned upside down by them.
