What makes a best friend?

There is no exact answer to this. The qualities that make someone a best friend for one person won’t be the same as the next person. A best friend will complement you not complete you.

A best friend is someone you can trust completely. You can tell them your deepest darkest secrets and be confident that your trust will be maintained.

Best friends will stand the test of time. A best friend is always there, perhaps every day or at least very often.

A best friend will defend you, perhaps physically, but more so if another person criticises you, even if the criticism is just.

Loyalty is paramount in the best friend friendship.

Best friends can be silly together. They can just talk shit about nothing much and still have a terrific time together.

Best friends can sense emotional pain in each other.

Best friends will listen even if they are hearing the same old story for the 50th time.

The friendship can be near perfect.
