The Goddess of Youth learns that trusting a Trickster comes at a heavy price. *** To be the Goddess of Eternal Youth is to be the most important among the Aesir. But it can sometimes be a tedious existence. Enticed by her friend, the Trickster-God Loki, Iduna dares to leave the Realm of Asgard and descends to Midgard, where only mortals dwell. She arrives amidst preparations of a spectacular feast and is drawn into the merriment. Then, she meets the mysterious and charming Thomas. He is unlike anyone she has ever met before, and is overwhelmed by him. Yet, as the last stroke of midnight nears, she realizes that Thomas may not at all be as he appears. *** [[This story is completed; total word count - 3.000]] This story was originally written for the Legends in Love contest for @WattpadShortStory, @mythandlegend, and @YARomance. I choose prompt 3 of the contest; a god(dess) taking a break from their duties and visiting the mortals for one day, specifically observing teens amid preparations for prom. In this short story, I explore the Norse myth of the Goddess Idunn (Iduna in some versions), giving my own spin on how she was captured and kidnapped while thus also continuing the tale I began for the contest (formerly only one chapter).
