Wisteria had grown up so distant from his father. Never did he come outside to play with him, to meet his friends.
Why, never did he come outside at all.
He'd sit at the table with an empty plate for Wisteria after he begged him to, but he never ate.
He never ate at all.
His father was hardly ever out of his room, a room the boy had never seen, and only did he hear the floorboards creak when the clock struck midnight.
And so the young boy was determined to find out why.
