Life has sucked, from the age of four, her closest friends, were pain and death. Her grandparents died in front of her at age four, in a house fire she was lucky enough to escape. When she was eight her dad died, a drunk driver driving an eight wheeler turns into the oncoming traffic. At twelve her pop died from a stroke and sixteen her mother was diagnosed with cancer, two years of fighting it and two years of watching pain consume her mother and having to look after her siblings.
Pain and death have taught her two things. Do not love too deeply, for the wounds are too hard to heal when the love is torn apart. Second is; do not trust, to trust is to be vulnerable to someone, and lord knows you're never meant to be vulnerable. These are the rules she survives by.
When a young man, Chris Kouro comes waltzing into her classroom, he quickly knocks her world off its axis and teachers her there is more than just surviving life, but living. But things get out of hand when he starts to fall in love with her. But can he really change so much of the girl who's barely Breathing?
