(Jean Kirstein x Fem Reader) Slowburn | Strangers to Lovers | Forced Proximity | Star Crossed When a disoriented Marleyan woman quite literally falls out of the sky and into the forests of Paradis, Jean Kirstein makes a reckless decision: he hides her. Not necessarily out of kindness, but because turning her in would get her killed, and to him, that seems a lot worse. To her, he is a problem with a uniform, stubborn, provincial, and deeply that doing the right thing will keep him intact. To him, she is exhausting, defiant, and endlessly inconvenient, and somehow braver than he expected. Jean commits to getting her back to Liberio, treating it like any other operation: structured, defensible, inevitable. It is also the first duty he has ever accepted that requires him to participate in his own undoing, slowly and with intent. Along the way, the lines she was raised on begin to erode. Propaganda holds up poorly against shared meals, small arguments, and tender honesty. Monsters lose their shape. The clean logic of war, of enemy and ally, of victory and survival, become harder to hold when it becomes a face you grow to love. For her, getting home means letting go of what she was taught to fear. For Jean, it means doing what he promised, even when it hurts. This fic is set between Season 3 and Season 4 of Attack on Titan, with the emotional trajectory of Crash Landing On You. It follows canon where possible but diverges intentionally, with choices carrying real political and military consequences.
