She lay her cloth,

Down on the floor,

And closed her eyes,

To sleep.

A man came past,

And took her hand.

Leaving her gifts,

To keep.

He whispered prayers,

And let her go.

Wishing he could,

Have stayed.

This girl he found,

Captured his heart.

In ways he could,

Not say.

The dawn came by,

And greeted them.

Sending kisses,

Her eyes they open.

The man had gone.

Her visitor she,

Won't know.

His gifts remained.

His heart it stayed.

While her eyes closed,

To sleep
