Emma is the quiet, clumsy nerd that keeps to herself and is invisible to everyone but her quirky best friend Stella. Even her alcoholic father and brother aren't around to pay attention to her. The one person she really wishes would notice her is Axel, the school's hot new transfer student from Chicago. He's a hothead and a bad-boy and the sexiest man she has ever seen in her life. 

When she does finally get his attention, it's not in the way she wanted. She wasn't watching where she was going and knocked him down, landing on top of him with her knee in his crotch, hurting him really bad. Students passing by took pictures of her on top of him and they spread around the school and a rumor is started that they're secretly dating. 

He is pissed off and embarrassed and becomes determined to make her life a living hell for it. They start a vicious cycle of torturing each other with revenge after revenge their entire Senior year and becoming the most hated enemies. He makes her life completely miserable but every time she looks at him she just wants to kiss him. How is it possible to hate and love someone at the same time?

When they're reunited years later, can he rebuild her trust enough to give him a second chance and prove that he's a different man than he was back in high school? Can she really learn to trust him again after how bad he broke her heart last time?
