Scott McCall has been a werewolf for a few months now, but his life hasn't really gotten any easier since he defeated Peter. His crush still doesn't seem to know that he exists; his best friend's dad still wants to kill him (violently); and on top of that, his other best friend's longtime crush is missing, and might be turning into a she-wolf. Not to mention half the school thinks he and Allison are dating.

Isaac Lahey doesn't think Scott McCall would ever care to notice, or even think about, the lonely kid whose father abuses him, who doesn't have any friends, and is still in the closet (mostly so his father won't hurt him even more). So when Derek Hale shows up one night when Isaac is working at his father's graveyard, and tells him an unbelievable story, Isaac realizes that this might be the way to getting Scott's attention - except it has unforeseen consequences.

Stiles Stilinski is tired of his longtime crush on Lydia Martin being unreciprocated. He gets that she's the queen bee and that he's, well, dirt on her designer heels, but it's getting old. At first he thinks he just needs to try harder to get her attention, and maybe then his old determination will come back...but then a memorable night in the pools brings something to Stiles' attention that he hadn't noticed before, and as usual, it's all. Derek Hale finds Stiles surprisingly amusing, fun, and happy to be around; besides, he's recently discovered a very effective way of shutting Stiles up. But he's also got three adolescent teenagers to train, a kanima to fight, and Scott McCall to keep in line, so maintaining a relationship with a kid who's significantly younger than him might be challenging.
