Arima Esumi is a new student at the University of Tokyo. After her mother's death she chose to live by herself in the big city.
At the same time, the Nekoma's volleyball team coach is getting sick, months before a big competition. The team captain, Kuroo, must find a replacement.
When he learned that the sister of the international volleyball champion Seto Esumi, is in town, he gets in his mind to convince her to become the new coach.
Little did he know that it won't be that easy.
