For years now, no one has dared speak out against their government, not since Project Penitence was brought forward.
Project Penitence is a device used by most governments to keep its citizens docile and complacent. Any citizen to speak out against their government or express views or opinions that weren't agreed with were sanctioned with Project Penitence.
Over the years, the outcomes expected of Project Penitence have differed. In the beginning, Project Penitence was used to keep criminals and medial figures from spreading their cultures and opinions but now, it is a means for the governments to control their citizens.
We have become a retrograde society, a society that isn't advancing but instead going backwards. Our society is now considered 'normal' as no one steps out of line.
