For quite a few years vampires have been romatically portrayed. Enough of that. And werewolves? Not as sexy as you think.
But back to the bloodsuckers. Vmpires here are catlike and vicious hunters and predators, who prowl crowded and secluded areas alike for pretty girls to eat them with a nice glass of red wine. All of them.
Or, almost all of them
Pierce Parker-Jovovich is really really weirded out. As a half vampire teenager, he knows what's coincidental and what's really freaky in the tiny town he lives in.
And ever since the start of senior year, Malliach High has been getting odder and odder.
His best friend gets a girlfriend, his crush starts speaking to him without need, and this girl he bumped into (and was almost beat up by) at the library seems to be an unwelcomed recurring character in his life.
And on top of his personal life, kids start going missing. A girl in his gym class disappears one Friday night. A boy from the basketball team vanishes at lunch. A kid from his theatre tech class is just gone on Monday.
Animals turn up dead at his doorstep, and his widowed mother is kidnapped.
That was the last straw for Pierce. With the help of a snarky blonde, his best friend, and an unknown pen pal, Pierce sets out to find the source of all the chaos in Malliach.
They say there's a killer in Malliach, but Pierce thinks there's more than one.
And all of them have fangs.
Leave your sparkles at the door, kids and pick up a set of fangs. I think you'll like the little town of Malliach.
