After the catastrophic Team Flare crisis, the world slowly returns to normal. The group parts ways, everyone setting off on their own journey. Ash returns to Kanto before embarking on a new adventure in Alola, while Serena departs for Hoenn to chase her dreams. Yet, what no one knows is that beneath their public goodbyes lay a secret, Ash and Serena had been together ever since her heartbreaking loss at the Master Class.
A year later, Ash returns from Alola, expecting to reunite with old friends, only to find Serena waiting for him. But what starts as a heartfelt reunion soon takes a deeper turn. As they navigate their rekindled bond, they uncover hidden truths about themselves, their pasts, and their families, revelations that threaten to change everything.
However, achieving their dreams is easier said than done. With relentless challenges ahead, danger lurking at every turn, and an unexpected surprise that neither of them saw coming, Ash and Serena find themselves facing trials far beyond what they ever imagined.

"You... love him?" Ash's voice cracked. Serena looked away, guilt flashing across her face. "Ash... you've always been kind, and you've always tried your best. But... you're not strong enough. That night, as he left Lumiose City behind, his heart had hardened. For the first time in his life, Ash didn't just want to be the very best-he needed to be. Not for fun, not for adventure, not even for his friends. He wanted to prove Serena wrong. He wanted revenge. Kalos High: New Beginnings
After returning home to Pallet Town from becoming the first Champion of the Alola League, Ash Ketchum, along with his buddy Pikachu, are surprised when they are informed by Delia and Professor Oak that Ash has been invited to attend school in Kalos Region's world famous academy known as Kalos High. Ash, being his energetic self as usual, happily accepts the offer. Plenty of young and experienced trainers have been attending the school, including childhood friend and rival Gary Oak, along with Ash's previous traveling companions except Serena, whom Ash helped many years ago back in Professor Oak's summer camp, but didn't have a chance to encounter him in Kalos as she was too busy with her Pokemon Showcases. Join Ash and Pikachu as they set off towards the Kalos Region once again, where they run into old traveling companions, a new rival, and a certain honey-blonde who did not get a chance to meet Ash during his Kalos journey. The stage is yet again set for a new adventure because the journey starts today! Note: There will be a Team Flare arc at the near end of the story. Ash will be wearing his outfit from Pokemon Journeys: The Series outfit throughout the entire book while Serena will be wearing her XYZ outfit but without the ribbon(Ash will give her the ribbon as they get closer.
