The Summer of Constellations
Sometimes it takes a summer with a night sky full of mysterious yellow stars, a beautiful boy, and a group of new friends to remember who you are.
"When I was little, I thought I was going to be an astronaut. I was going to be the first person to step onto Mars, and be the first to communicate with aliens. Haha, it's kinda funny really, how I thought I could do all that."
"Who says you can't?"
I shrugged, "C'mon, you know what I mean. Those dreams are untouchable. Like how could I possibly think that of all the people on the entire planet, I was going to be the first human on Mars?"
"Well, there you go. You, you Regan are the only person holding you back from your dreams, and besides, someone is going to have to be the first to walk on Mars. You have just as much chance as anyone else. There's thousands of other kids just like you, fantasizing over the idea of going into space, but the denying the fact that it was an actual possibility to become an astronaut. You know what chance you have then, if you don't even try? Nothing, you have no chance to achieve anything."
