Roxy's life is a mess, a stockpile of contradictions.  She's the school's head cheerleader with a bad-girl image, yet a heart of gold. . With her mom gone, Roxy takes care of the entire household, while taking care of her sick father in secret.  

Nobody knows about her situation at home and in order to keep it that way, Roxy plays the act that fits with her appearance and reputation. That is until the new, fresh out of college, Mr. Stevens comes to the school as a substitute math teacher.

High School being small, has Roxy crossed paths with him sooner than she would ever believe and her secret is no longer as secret as she wants.  With equations of  life not adding up in her favour, Roxy finds her worst fears come true.  Maybe the new teacher at school can teach her something new,  maybe she learns to love or maybe her lies finally find a way to catch up to her.
