At 37, Cynthia Winterspoon is a self-made millionaire, more popular than Martha Stewart. Women love her decorating and recipe ideas for every season, geared toward shabby chic, affordable for the middle class. Cynthia lives by her motto: Make your life enjoyable. Except that her husband just left her for a woman barely out of high school, and is suing her for everything she has. The scandal’s rocked her world, but nothing compared to the shakeup after she meets rock star Rex Reynolds.

Rex Reynolds, rock god and general mess, has everything he could possibly need—except love. The real kind, that inspires the greatest love songs. An appearance on a late night talk show seems just another gig until he meets Cyn, the sweetest, kindest woman whose thoughtfulness touches his soul. When a motorcycle accident robs him of his memory, one image blazes bright in his mind: Cyn. He’s convinced she’s his fiancee. Now all that stands between him and true happiness is her hesitancy.

Can amnesia help them both remember what’s most important?

Music inspires many to persevere, hope, dream, laugh, cry and process a wide variety of emotions. Music was very important to Melissa Campbell, having been the only constant in a tumultuous existence. It was key to her survival--her addiction. Far worse addictions were a hostile presence in her life that ultimately robbed her of a nurturing childhood and a happy marriage. Her perception of love was clouded by the misconception that other people's needs came first and only when she sacrificed herself did she feel worthy of it. Most of her life passed before she broke this cycle, finally finding happiness within herself. Melissa's motivation to change was spurred by one band in particular in more than one way. She followed a path that led her to what she was meant to do all her life--become a writer. Not only did she develop a passion for writing, she fell in love with a handsome bad-boy rock star. Shannon opened up a whole new world, giving her a depth of desire she'd never experienced. He lived in LA and she lived on the opposite side of the country however, making it a challenge to pursue a relationship. The idea of moving to California posed many doubts for her. Were his feelings genuine? Could he be faithful despite his widely acclaimed playboy reputation? Could she adapt to a different lifestyle? What hardships would she face in the public eye if they were a couple? She wanted answers before leaving the only life she'd ever known, but that was far from realistic. If she wanted him, she'd have to risk it all to see how things would unfold.

▶ Kiana: For the past handful of years, hiding behind anonymous words suited me just fine. I could twist them, expressing myself, and know that people found something of themselves when they were sung. But anonymity is no longer possible. As much as I want to, I can't keep my head buried in the sand and ignore everything around me. Ignore the past and its importance. I'm stepping out of the shadows, in part because I don't have a choice. The other part, though... Because I want to take the plunge and see what's on the other side. Most of all, find my heart again and get things right this time around. However, it's soon apparent that not everyone is in agreement with this new development. I guess I'll see just how many potholes I'll find during this journey. ▶ Duncan: Most people think I have everything I want. Most people also don't know the first thing about me, just what's out there, what I allow them to know. They don't know that fame and money means nothing without the family I've made. The family that's been incomplete for years. However... It doesn't mean I'm a happy camper when that changes, when the missing piece appears out of nowhere. First, because it forces me to face all the feelings, good and bad, that I've tried to push down. Second, because she's not quite the same... But that's okay. And third, because someone thinks they can mess with her, with us. In the end of the day, there's one thing that's as sure as the sun rising every morning: nothing and no one is stepping between me and Kiana this time. Not on my watch. 🏆300 × Adult × 11/17/20 🏆67 × Romantic Suspense × 11/30/2020 Book one in the Toxic Climax series. Dual POV, second-chance love story. 5k-word chapters on Fridays.
