Charlie Jackson is one of the prettiest girls in school, well at least that's what Mason Cooper thinks. He's been best friends with her since she moved to San Francisco three years ago, but how does he tell her that he's been in love with her since then? 

Just as he's about to confess his feelings, a new kid shows up who's apparently Charlie's childhood best friend. Mason thought he was Charlie's best friend, but the new kid seems to know everything about her. Fueled with rage and jealousy, he digs into Charlie and the new kids past and Mason soon realizes how little he actually knows about Charlie and her family. 

On top of dealing with her pesky twin brother who doesn't approve of him, Mason has to figure out a way to get Charlie away from the new kid, before prom rolls around.
