The day that their dad passed away was the day everything changed. Now, living in a small town called Gravesfield, the family begun falling apart. Lucía's fights with their mom and the suspensions from school ultimately led to her packing up her bags and leaving six months ago, the only thing left behind being a note that said "I'm making this house worse and worse."
When Luz was supposed to be on her way to a Reality Check Summer Camp, she accidentally stumbled across a hidden town called the "Boiling Isles". It was a fresh start, and she chose to stay there and lie to her mom. With both sisters balancing guilt, broken relationships, and their true feelings, everything felt impossible. Lies, secrets, and entire lives were behind hidden from one another, and it was only a matter of time before it all revealed itself.

Amity's breath hitches in her throat, and she doesn't speak. "Can I kiss you?" Luz asks, her breath tickling Amity's lips. Without any hesitation Amity nods her head yes, her eyes still wide. She couldn't believe it. Was this actually happening or was she dreaming? Luz looks at Amity again, obviously nervous. She doesn't seem to move, so Amity does instead.
