Nights on the Sand
Zahra is the last of her kind, a creature of wind and sand. A horse-shifter. After witnessing her parents deaths, Zahra is mistaken for a normal filly and captured in the land of Kanan and taken to the house of a merchant who gives her to his young son, Mahmud.
In Kanan, horses are revered as sacred. Every boy must break in his first horse as a rite of passage into manhood. But Zahra has a will of iron, and Mahmud fails to break her. One night, Mahmud discovers Zahra's secret, but instead of outing her to everyone, he reveals a secret of his own to her. Mahmud was born a Magi, a keeper of mystical powers and an interpreter of dreams.
Their unconventional relationship gets even more complicated with Zahra's growing feelings for her handsome rider and as Mahmud rises to power and fame, he finds the expectations of the kingdom are in conflict with his own heart.
