Betrayal (Twilight)

Valentina Swan is the younger sister of Isabella Swan. When Bella started to hang around the Cullen family, Valentina was left on her own. She didn't have many friends because most people didn't really want to be around her. Unlike her sister, she had a slight tan to her skin and actually had a backbone. She wished to have more friends, but Bella didn't want her around to hang out with her "friends."

After the Cullens leave Bella behind, Bella decides to start hanging out with Valentina once again. She brings Valentina to the reservation to hang out with Jacob, but over time, even Jacob stops hanging around Bella. When Bella gets angry, she drags Valentina with her to confront him, only for them to learn the real tribe secrets.

Valentina feels more welcome and included around the pack than she did around her own sister and everyone else she knew. She starts spending all of her time at the pack house, helping Emily make food for the boys. As time passes on and Charlie soon realizes that the only place Valentina seems to be happy is the res, he decides to put her into online school, which was harder than normal, seeing as online school wasn't very popular then.

While completing school and spending all her time at the reservation, she begins to get more attached to the pack; Sam becoming quite protective of the young girl. When Seth and Leah's father dies and they become shifters as well, that's when Sam's real protectiveness comes out to play.
