I looked into the shining blue eyes of the man across me and knew that he was it. The thing I had been searching for my whole life, the thing I needed most. But now that I knew that, it was too late.

Cat Hemmings had lost everything, everyone she cared about. She knew that in this world that if you cherished something, it was bound to be taken away. Nothing was secure in this world, everything was temporary.

While running away from a group of walkers, Cat stumbles upon a prison, the safest refuge she had seen since the outbreak began. There she meets a group of survivors, their handsome leader and mysterious man named Daryl. The prison soon becomes her home but she soon discovers that the apocalypse isn't her only problem while living there.

She is torn between her heart and the men she loves. She must choose between protecting herself, or taking a chance. How can she love in a world where love is fragile and can be taken away in the blink of an eye?

39 parts Complete Mature

Daryl Dixon is completely on his own. After the Saviors burn down Alexandria, he thinks that he is the only survivor. Living without the group that he has come to love, has left him as nothing more than a shell of the man he used to be. One day after a brutal fight, he stumbles upon a run-down shack in the woods. As he lay dying on the dirty floor, his life is saved by a complete stranger. These two loners find that living life together is so much better than doing it alone. I haven't written a story in the first person since Broken. It's not as easy as it sounds, but I enjoyed the challenge. This story has taken me months to write and I finished it just days after the Season 8 midseason finale. Any similarities to that episode are pure coincidence. I wrote the chapter (You'll know which one) months before Season8 even started. For anyone that is newly following me or reading my books, I write differently than most. You only start to get chapters once the entire story is written. And it finally is. I hope everyone enjoys Angel.
