The Pariahs (a Christian fiction)
Pariah (noun): social outcast; any person or animal that is generally despised or avoided.
Carmen is new to the whole "Jesus" thing. Since the night she found herself in a hospital, she's been in a constant hurry to learn as much as she could about God.
How is it that two days prior she was the fun party boy-crazed girl, who only cared about living in the moment, but now she's suddenly a "bible thumper" church girl who lives for the Lord? Well that's what everyone's been asking. Not that they'd accept what really happened to her.
Now in a foster home, she struggles with her new found beliefs and being able to defend them, all while trying to keep away from her angry, arrogant foster brother, who despises the thought of a "God" and sees life no more than a cruel never ending joke. He lives to party, and just wants to forget. Forget what? No one really knows..
Her best friend, who has been brought up as a child in church, constantly supports her in the right direction and helps her with her troubles... Even though she has hidden struggles of her own.
Constantly butting heads with her foster brother, and struggling with staying firm in her relationship with Jesus Christ and sharing his word, she goes on a difficult journey, learning how to deal with grief, faith, and the sexual temptations that go along with being a teenager.
She doesn't fit in the world and at times... She doesn't fit apart from it.
(This story is for the Glory of God! I don't consider myself an author but I hope to bring glory to his name anyway I can!)
