''Are you kidding with me Maeva? You suddenly disappear and come back after an entire year to just tell me you're thrilled we're graduating together?
And being the stupid naïve guy I am, I constantly tried to think of something I might've done wrong to make you leave, but as far as I know, we were pretty close before you left [...] ''
He was about to proceed but eventually stopped as if he was struggling to get the words out of his mouth.
Although it was not the time to scrutinize Mother Nature's flawless work and stand in aw in front of such an impeccable masterpiece, I could not stop eyeing the irked creature standing before me. I mean, how could one not get lost in those pensive eyes getting darker by the minute, that chiseled jaw toughly clenching under a perfectly trimmed beard, and that upright built framework tensing with every oxygen intake? I must say, whoever contributed in the making of such an impeccable man deserves a round of applause.
'Earth to Maeva! May I just remind you that you're in the middle of a fight? You're not supposed to drool all over the enemy!' Pft, shut up stupid conscience! He's just a little mad, that's all!
Suddenly, the chat I was having with myself was interrupted when a bunch of venom-coated words hit me like a bucket of ice-cold water: ''Why do I even bother telling you this? It's not like you care!''
With that, he turned around, opened the sliding door, and disappeared into the dark room which left me all alone, trying my best not to show any sign of vulnerability. All at once, the light seemed dark, hot June breezes became cold as ice, and the air felt unbearably heavy to inhale. Soon enough, my vision got blurry, and it is only when two symmetrical streams of tears rushed down my burning cheeks that I realized I was no longer able to bare the knives stinging me in the heart.
If only he knew why I left!
