Isaac craved freedom. Freedom from the betrayal of those around him, his father's control, and perhaps even himself. Then he met Alaric, the older man with the warm eyes ... and everything changed.

"I grinned, rejoicing in the feel of the wind blowing past my face and the disheveling of my hair. It felt like flying, it tasted like freedom." "I was caged once more, but this time it wasn't against my will. Perhaps it was lust, or maybe more ... all I knew was that I didn't want him to let me free, not now and perhaps not until it broke me."

Isaac Matthews thought he only wanted one thing in life: the ability to choose what path in life he would take. Whether that required going against the insanely strict beliefs he grew up with (mainly from his father), ditching his swimming background to seek more, or defying the unexpected, he was willing to change. He wanted an opportunity to make his own path, which is exactly what he assumed Havendell University represented. Unfortunately, life is never that simple.
